There are different levels of healthcare apprenticeship, starting at level 2 moving to level 7. Here are some examples of the jobs you could do within the different levels of the healthcare apprenticeship available.
Level 2 (GCSE)
Healthcare Support Worker
Age 16 or over
Willingness to learn and work
No formal qualifications required, though some employers may prefer GCSEs in English and Maths at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent
Level 3 (A Level)
Senior Healthcare Support Worker
You will usually need GCSEs in English and Maths at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent
Completion of a Level 2 apprenticeship or relevant experience may help
Level 5 (Foundation Degree)
Nursing Associate
GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or equivalent
Experience in a healthcare setting is often required
Some employers may also require a Level 3 qualification in a healthcare-related field
Level 6 (Degree)
Registered Nurse
Typically requires A-levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications
GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
Relevant healthcare experience may be required
Operating Department Practitioner
Typically requires A-levels, including a science subject, or equivalent Level 3 qualifications
GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above
Relevant healthcare experience may be beneficial
Paramedic
